The Prisoners’ Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) announced in a joint statement on Sunday that Hamza Abdullah Abdulhadi Adwan, 67, martyred in Zionist regime’s detention on September 9, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n Adwan, who suffered from chronic heart disease and required continuous medical care, was detained on November 12, 2024, at a military checkpoint in the northern part of the blockaded Palestinian territory.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n Adwan was married and a father of nine children, two of whom were martyred before the start of Zionist regime’s brutal war on Gaza in October 2023.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n His death comes amid systematic abuses against Palestinian captives, including torture, starvation, medical neglect, sexual assault, humiliation, and detention under degrading conditions.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n More than 100 Palestinian captives have martyred in Zionist regime’s prisons since the start of the Israeli genocidal war against the people of Gaza.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n The two advocacy groups held Zionist regime fully responsible for Adwan’s death and called on the international community to take concrete steps to the occupying regime accountable for war crimes committed against Palestinian detainees and the Palestinian people.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n The remaining cases, the groups said, remain subject to enforced disappearance, alongside dozens of detainees who were executed in the field.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n The groups also said that photographs released of detainees’ bodies following a ceasefire in Gaza that took effect on October 10 provide evidence of systematic executions carried out against prisoners.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n Thousands of Palestinians, including children, are arbitrarily being held in Israel’s prisons and detention sites, where torture is widespread.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n Since October 2023, over 21,000 Palestinians have been detained in the West Bank and al-Quds, including 1,655 children and 650 women.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n More than 9,300 Palestinians are currently held in Zionist regime’s prisons, including at least 3,385 held in administrative detention without charge or trial.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n Rights groups said that Zionist regime has sharply escalated its violations against Palestinian captives, particularly those from Gaza, since the start of the genocidal war, including starvation, torture, sexual violence, and systematic denial of medical care.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n <\/p>\r\n\r\n Zionist regime has martyred more than 71,000 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 170,000 others in brutal aggression in Gaza since October 2023.<\/span><\/p>","content_source":"","content_url":"","content_date_start":"2026-01-12 09:38:53","content_date_event":"2026-01-12 09:38:53","content_date_event_start":null,"content_date_event_end":null,"content_show_title_slider":1,"content_date_last_edit":"2026-01-12 09:39:40","content_date_register":"2026-01-12 09:39:30","content_columns":0,"content_show_img":1,"content_show_details":0,"content_show_related_img":0,"content_show_slider":1,"content_comment":1,"content_score":0,"tag_id":0,"score_average":null,"score_count":null,"score_date_last":null,"uid":43,"eid":43,"attach_title":"Due to medical negligence, torture:\r\n\r\nPalestinian captive martyred in Israeli jail","attaches":[{"sizes":{"150":".\/cache\/2\/attach\/202601\/564305_2751955782_150_84.webp","300":".\/cache\/2\/attach\/202601\/564305_2751955782_300_169.webp","400":".\/cache\/2\/attach\/202601\/564305_2751955782_400_225.webp","600":".\/cache\/2\/attach\/202601\/564305_2751955782_600_338.webp","900":".\/cache\/2\/attach\/202601\/564305_2751955782_900_507.webp","1200":".\/cache\/2\/attach\/202601\/564305_2751955782_1000_563.jpg"},"ext":"jpg","file_media":1,"token":2751955782,"files":{"original":{"url":".\/file\/2\/attach\/202601\/564305_2751955782.jpg","width":1000,"height":563,"size":0}}}]}]]
