It also passed another resolution on Thursday, calling for more sanctions against Iranian individuals and entities and putting the IRGC on the EU terrorist list over alleged human rights violations during the recent riots.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nShariati said if it was not for the IRGC, the Daesh terrorist group “would have been in central Europe today.” The Guards risked their lives to secure the world, he remarked.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nHe highlighted the Iranian nation’s unwavering support for the IRGC, saying the EU plan to blacklist the IRGC would not undermine the elite force.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nElsewhere in his remarks, the lawmaker noted that the European Parliament’s move was influenced by some anti-Iran terrorist groups. He warned that such actions will eventually harm the European countries.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n“I believe the European Parliament has become a puppet of terrorist groups such as the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), and it has been deluded by them,” he said.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe MKO has been a major force behind the recent riots that erupted across Iran last September. The cultish group has also been responsible for numerous assassinations and bombings of top-ranking Iranian officials since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
