Gaza food entries under tight control
'Israel' continued its repressive measures against the Palestinian people partially opening two crossing to allo entry of few aid supply into the Gaza Strip on Thursday.
Few quantities of fuel, grain and fodder entered Gaza Strip today when Israeli occupation authorities partially opened two commercial crossings before more than 45 trucks, Palestinian officials said.
Israeli occupation authorities opened the Nahal Oz crossing post east of the Palestinian Gaza city allowing entry of quantities of cooking food and industrial diesel used to run the only power generating station in Gaza strip, Head of the Gaza Strip goods entry coordination committee, Raed FaTtouh, said in a press release.
The Al-Mintar (Karni) crossing in the northeastern end of Gaza Strip was also opened and that 45 trucks loaded with wheat, fodder and grain were able to enter the strip, the official added.
Israeli occupation authorities, however, maintained closure of the Karem Abu- Salem crossing on the Israel-Egyptian-Gaza border, the official said. This border point is a daily crossing outlet for tens of trucks loaded with aid supply for the agriculture and commercial sectors.
For more than six months, Israel has been rejecting entry of aid supply into the strip, tying the action with the release of Gilad Shalit, a soldier who was seized on 25 June 2006 by Palestinian fighters in a cross border raid from the Gaza Strip on the crossing of Karim Abu Salem.
