The group released a statement saying they had tricked an Israeli officer into revealing information about his network of informers in
The statement said: “Members of Al-Quds Brigades telephoned Israeli officer referred to as ‘A’ after they obtained his number and other numbers from collaborators who confessed after questioning. The officer was made to believe that the caller would be giving him information about Palestinian factions and about Al-Aqsa Brigades fighters. The officer was tricked into giving information about Israeli attitudes and plans towards resistance leaders, as well as the collaborators networks, and how Israeli officers contact them and pay them.”
In its statement Islamic Jihad warned young Palestinians against talking to unknown callers, especially those who call from Israeli mobile phones. They said that Israeli intelligence officers make random calls to Palestinian youths and attempt to recruit them as informers.
