US pressuring Baghdad on relations with Israel

Several major pro-Israeli blocs in the US Congress try to compel the current Iraqi government to officially recognize 'Israel', American-Arabic agency reported.

According to the report, House of Representatives now is studying a resolution filed by Democratic Attorney Histnj Elsie  which demands Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maleki to immediately recognize Israel without condition.

It demands American administration to use its influence "to persuade Iraq and other countries to recognize Israel's right to exist and establishment of diplomatic relations with Israel ".

Pointing to US financial aids to Iraq, the resolution said: "Although the United States had provided Iraq with 50 billion dollars of economic aid and security so far, Iraq always refuses to recognize Israel."

The resolution has been transmitted to the Committee on Foreign Relations in the House of Representatives for review before approval.
