Imam Khomeini’s 1964 Speech Marked a Turning Point in Iran’s Islamic Revolution

TEHRAN (Qodsna) –  Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Rahimian made the remarks at the national conference “The Wake-Up Bell: From Iran to Palestine,” held at the Holy Defense Museum in Tehran on the occasion of the 13th of the Iranian calendar month of Aban, National Day of Fight against Global Arrogance. 
 

Ayatollah Rahimian recalled Imam Khomeini’s strong opposition to the capitulation law granting US military advisers judicial immunity in Iran.

Ayatollah Rahimian, who witnessed the events, said Imam Khomeini issued a historic statement and delivered a speech condemning the legislation, arguing that it violated Iran’s national sovereignty, independence and dignity.

He said the speech led to Imam Khomeini’s arrest and subsequent exile, adding that his opposition to foreign domination became a defining moment in the history of Iran’s Islamic movement.

Ayatollah Rahimian further noted that Imam Khomeini had expressed confidence in the Iranian nation’s eventual victory over global arrogance, saying that today’s resistance of the Islamic Republic against its adversaries reflects those historic statements.

SDPN Secretary-General concluded by expressing hope that the younger generation would play an active role in achieving what he described as the ultimate victory of Islam.
