Nakhala: Our people will continue to resist the Israeli occupation
Ziyad al-Nakhala, secretary-general of the Islamic Jihad Movement, has affirmed that the Palestinian people will continue to resist Zionist regime’s occupation by all available means amid the ongoing aggression in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Al-Quds.
Nakhala made the remarks on Tuesday during a speech marking the 39th founding anniversary of Islamic Jihad and the third anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
“2026 stands as a year of steadfastness and resilience against the Zio-American aggression and the attempts to eliminate the Palestinian cause,” Nakhala said.
Nakhala emphasized that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was a response to Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people, its siege on Gaza, violations at the Aqsa Mosque, detentions, land annexation, and settlement expansion.
Nakhala added that the Zionist regime’s occupation persists in its campaign of killing, destruction, siege, and starvation in the Gaza Strip despite ongoing initiatives, negotiations, and efforts aimed at bringing the war to an end.
The Islamic Jihad chief warned that Zionist regime’s actions across Palestine are not limited to military operations, but rather target Palestinians, their livelihoods, and the future of their cause.
He affirmed that his Movement would continue working to strengthen the unity of the Palestinian resistance, noting that unifying efforts against the occupation is essential given the ongoing and expanding aggression.
