Spate of settler violations, attacks reported across W. Bank
Extremist Zionist settlers launched renewed attacks and violations under direct protection from Zionist regime’s forces across the occupied West Bank during the past 24 hours.
According to media sources, the village of Faqqu’ah, northeast of Jenin, has been subjected to a major escalation since the early hours of Saturday, involving Zionist regime’s forces and groups of settlers, amid attacks, raids, and arrests across the village.
The escalation started when hordes of settlers stormed farmers’ fields in Faqqu’ah, triggering clashes with residents who attempted to fend them off. As the confrontations intensified, Zionist regime’s forces intervened and opened live fire at residents, with sources reporting that two young men were wounded by gunfire.
Local sources reported additional injuries among residents as a result of settler assaults on farmers.
Meanwhile, more Zionist troops stormed the village and spread out around homes and fields before launching a large-scale arrest campaign in the village.
Zionist regime’s forces reportedly broke into and ransacked several homes in the village, kidnaping more than 30 Palestinians. The detainees included citizens who were rounded up during the events.
In Deir Abu Da’if, east of Jenin, settlers placed Israeli flags on a house whose owners had previously received a demolition notice, in a move seen as provocative and coinciding with increased settlement activity in the area.
In northeastern Ramallah, armed settlers entered the eastern part of al-Mughayyir village and opened fire towards residents’ homes under the protection of Israeli forces.
Those settlers also set up a new outpost on Mount Darwish near the village to use it as a center to launch attacks on nearby Palestinian areas.
Another group of settlers attacked a vehicle carrying two young men, both from al-Mughayyir, while they were travelling along the al-Maarajat road between Ramallah and Jericho.
In the Ramallah governorate, Bedouin residents of Arab al-Ka’abneh, east of al-Taybeh, faced harassment and movement restrictions by settlers.
Settlers also continued to expand an outpost in the Wadi az-Zeitoun area near the village of Umm Safa in northern Ramallah.
In the Jordan Valley, settlers stormed the al-Hamma Bedouin community and stole water tanks used by Palestinian residents.
In the town of Beita, south of Nablus, settlers attacked homes before stealing a flock of sheep.
In northwestern Nablus, settlers rebuilt an outpost between the towns of Beit Imrin and Yasid.
