Israeli raids, arrests and checkpoints across West Bank as settler attacks escalate

Several areas across the West Bank witnessed raids by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) early Tuesday, involving home searches, arrests and the establishment of military checkpoints, alongside confrontations and settler attacks in several areas.

In Jenin Governorate, the IOF raided the village of Jalqamous, east of the city, where they carried out a campaign of home raids and arrests. The raids also extended to Barta’a, southwest of Jenin, and the town of Silat al-Harithiya to the west.

The IOF arrested young Palestinian Nour Al-Suwaiti while he was traveling along the Arab American University road south of Jenin. They also raided the city of Tubas.

In Ramallah Governorate, the IOF raided the towns of Deir Dibwan and Kafr Malik, as well as the village of Deir Jarir. Several homes were searched in Kafr Malik, while shops were forced to close during the raid on Deir Dibwan, where a young Palestinian was arrested.

Jewish settlers also surrounded a Palestinian vehicle in the eastern plain of Sinjil, north of Ramallah.

Confrontations erupted in Beit Ummar, north of al-Khalil, where Israeli forces fired tear gas. A military checkpoint was also set up during a raid on the King Faisal Street area of al-Khalil.

Three Palestinians were wounded in As-Samu, south of al-Khalil, following a settler attack on the village of Ighrein.

IOF troops also brought additional mobile homes into a newly established settlement outpost on the summit of Mount Tarusa, west of Dura, south of al-Khalil.

In Nablus, Israeli forces stormed the city through the Beit Furik checkpoint. They also established a military checkpoint in Beita, south of the city, where Palestinian vehicles were detained, and raided the village of Urif.

In Qalqilya, Israeli forces raided the central market area and Al-Naqqar neighborhood, firing stun grenades toward vehicles near the tunnel in the town of Habla, south of the city.

The IOF also arrested Mohammed Shaher Nofal after raiding his home in Al-Naqqar neighborhood.

Raids continued in Tulkarem Governorate, where Israeli troops forced their way into the village of Qaffin and searched several homes. They also raided the town of Attil, north of Tulkarem, and searched a home.

The raids come amid continued IOF and settler escalation across the West Bank, marked by recurring home raids, arrests, military checkpoints and attacks against Palestinians.
