Funeral procession for martyred Leader begins in Mashhad
The funeral procession for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and his family members began moments ago in Mashhad, northeastern Iran.
The special ceremonies to bid farewell to the martyred Leader and the members of his family began on July 3. Political officials from over 45 countries, along with scholars, religious leaders, and scientists from more than 90 countries, gathered to pay their respects.
After farewell and funeral ceremonies in Tehran and Qom, as well as similar events in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala, the body of Ayatollah Khamenei will be laid to rest beside the shrine of Imam Reza (Peace Be Upon Him) in the Iranian holy city of Mashhad.
Ayatollah Khamenei was assassinated in a terrorist US–Israeli airstrike on February 28, when the two regimes launched their second war of aggression against Iran that lasted 40 days. Iran has vowed to take revenge for the criminal act.
