Hamas calls for urgent int’l action to end Gaza war and blockade
The Hamas Movement has appealed to the international community to take urgent action to end the Zionist regime’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, completely lift the blockade, ensure the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid, and launch reconstruction efforts.
“The Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip continue to face an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe that worsens day by day as a result of the ongoing genocidal war being waged by the Israeli occupation through systematic killing, blockade, and destruction,” Hamas said in a statement released on Thursday.
“The spread of hunger and poverty, the collapse of the healthcare system, the destruction of water and sanitation facilities, the worsening environmental and living conditions, the disruption of education, and the growing suffering of children, women, and elderly people reflect that the Israeli occupation will continue to use systematic starvation, deprivation, and destruction as tools of aggression against more than two million Palestinians in the Strip,” Hamas explained.
Hamas noted that the volume of humanitarian and relief aid reaching Gaza remains limited and far below the minimum actual needs of the population despite the efforts being made by humanitarian organizations.
“The restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation on the entry and distribution of aid, alongside its ongoing targeting of essential lifelines, have rendered the humanitarian response incapable of containing the scale of the catastrophe,” the Movement added.
