Iran ready to counter mischievous acts with ‘eyes open, fingers on trigger’, IRGC general warns

A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has declared Iran’s Armed Forces fully prepared to confront any hostile action, warning the enemies that the country stands ready to deliver an immediate response to any aggression by its enemies.

Major General Yadollah Javani, deputy commander of the IRGC for political affairs, made the remarks during a ceremony in Qaen county, South Khorasan province, on Saturday, as Tehran and Washington say they are close to reaching an agreement that brings a permanent end to the illegal US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

“The armed forces of the Islamic Republic are ready to respond to any act of mischief with their eyes open and fingers on the trigger,” he said.

“The US, Europe, and regional countries should know that the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf will henceforth be governed by Iranian rule and order, and that the era of the presence of foreigners and plunderers [in the region] is over."

The US and the Israeli regime waged their first unlawful military assault against Iran, which lasted 12 days, in June 2025. Their second invasion began in late February and came to a halt in early April after 40 days.

In both wars, Iran's brave resistance and successful retaliatory operations, as well as its powerful grip on the Strait of Hormuz, forced the enemies to accept a ceasefire.

Javani said that after the 1980s’ Iraqi-imposed war and ensuing failed conspiracies, the US and Israel decided to enter the field directly last year and wage a war against Iran.

The enemies began their aggression, assuming that Iran would surrender in a week due to unrest and activities by counter-revolutionary groups, he asserted. However, they faced a strong barrier on the battlefield and were forced to request a halt to the war.

The IRGC commander also noted that in the next stage, the adversaries sought to topple the Islamic Republic by assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, but the Iranian armed forces dealt heavy blows to the enemies.

“Today, American Republicans and Democrats, Zionists, and their allies are stunned because they thought that the war would result in the destruction of the Islamic Republic, but contrary to their expectations, Iran became stronger,” he added.

“Many analysts acknowledge that the Islamic Republic has not been weakened, but has emerged stronger from this war and turned into the fourth world power.”
