IRGC Navy launches retaliatory strikes on US vessels after ceasefire violation
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has launched retaliatory strikes against US military vessels in response to the violation of a ceasefire by the US forces.
The IRGC Navy announced early on Friday that its elite forces opened fire on US military destroyers in response to a ceasfire violation and an aggressive act by the US military against an Iranian oil tanker near the country’s southern port of Jask.
It said that the retaliatory attacks followed the US military destroyers’ approach toward the Strait of Hormuz, adding that during a highly coordinated operation, the IRGC fired upon the enemy destroyers using a variety of anti-ship ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as explosive warhead drones.
According to the IRGC Navy, intelligence monitoring shows that the US military sustained significant damage, leading three enemy ships to hastily flee the Strait of Hormuz.
