Walberg told qodsna that the war against Iran, launched in 2025 will go down in history as an act every much as despicable as Hitler's attack on the Soviet Union in 1941.

Tehran (qodnsa)- The US and Zionist regime started a fresh round of unlawful military aggression on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country.

Iran has also carried out extensive retaliatory attacks, with missiles and drones successfully hitting targets in the Israeli-occupied territories as well as US military assets in regional countries.

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred in Israeli and US strikes.

Qods News Agency interviewed with a Canadian writer, senior journalist and political expert Eric Walberg.

Qodsna: How do you describe the characteristic of Ayatollah Khamenei?

Walberg: Ayatollah Khamenei was Ayatollah Khomeini's closest follower. He was almost martyred in 1980 by MEK terrorists. He was committed to Iran's Islamic revolution heart and soul. He did not flinch in the face of the terrorist attack by US-Israel launced in full force last year and again this year.

He was a believer in peace, but also in the legitimate right of Palestinians to defend themselves and their land, grossly violated every minute by Zionist Jews, who treat Palestinians as untermenschen.

The venal stupidity of the enemy inadvertently made the Ayatollah a martyr and hero to the Muslim world.

Qodsna: Under international law, Iran has the right to defend itself from unprovoked and illegal attacks. What’s your opinion about this war?

Walberg: The war against Iran, launched in 2025 will go down in history as an act every much as despicable as Hitler's attack on the Soviet Union in 1941. That act led to the mobilization of the world to defeat fascism, overturned the entire world history, forcing the world to recognize the communists as the saviour of civilization at that moment in history.

That victory gave the world peace until the Soviet Union collapsed, lacking a firm spiritual basis that would resist the lure of western materialism. Imperialism was able to reboot and bring us to this perilous moment.

This time, the world will be saved by Islam, showing the world that Islam is the firm spiritual basis that the Soviet Union lacked, that it needs to face down the imperialist aggressor, now US-Israel.

Qodsna: How do see the future of the war?

Walberg: I don't pretend to know the future. All we can do is pray that Iran is sufficiently prepared and courageous enough to prevail against the massive, merciless war machine.

I can't accept that US-Israel will prevail, as that means the end of civilization. As it stands now, the Middle East is in flames, destruction reigns, the US-Israel's puppet allies' world is already in shambles, Israel and Iran are being destroyed day by day, making life unlivable.

Iran continues to bomb Israel's war machine, though not civilian facilities. US-Israel continues to bomb Iran's hospitals and schools, homes and factories, its oil facilities, killing thousands.

It is a horrible nightmare for all, thanks to imperialism. Surely the world will mobilize in defence of Iran and shake off this horror.
