IRGC targets base hosting US F-35, F-16 jets
Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced it carried out the 51st wave of its Operation True Promise 4, targeting a key base used to host US military aircraft.
According to a statement by IRGC, the operation involved a combined launch of solid‑ and liquid‑fuel missiles against US forces at Al‑Kharj base.
The statement said the base serves as a hub for hosting US F‑35 and F‑16 fighter jets and aerial refueling aircraft as well as a main base for American AWACS surveillance planes.
The IRGC said the operation targeted the base as a source of attacks against Iran.
The 51st wave of Operation True Promise 4 was dedicated to Brigadier General martyr Abolqasem Babaeian and his martyred wife, according to the statement.
