Silence on US-Israeli aggression will set ‘dangerous precedent’: Iran FM
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has urged the international community to fulfill its responsibility and explicitly condemn the US-Israeli military aggression against Iran.
In a phone conversation with his Japanese counterpart, Toshimitsu Motegi, on Monday, Araghchi stressed that silence of the international community in the face of this “savage” assault would set “a dangerous precedent” for the international order.
“This is not a war just against Iran, but a war against the entire region and the critical situation in the region, including in the Strait of Hormuz, stems from the military aggression by the United States and Zionist regime,” he said.
The foreign minister added that maintaining good relations with neighbor is a priority for Iran, “but we cannot allow the US to attack us from its bases in the region.”
The US and Zionist regime launched a surprise military attack on Iran on February 28, assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several senior military commanders.
Iran has responded by launching waves of missile and drone strikes at US bases in the region and Zionist regime’s targets in the occupied territories.
