Iran will respond ‘recklessly’ to any attack on its population centers: Qalibaf
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warns the United States that Iran will respond “recklessly” to any attack on its population centers.
In a post on his official X account on Monday, Qalibaf said that US President Donald Trump has explicitly threatened to target civilian populations in Iran.
“This is an official admission by the terrorist government of the United States,” he wrote.
“Killing people and attacking population centers will have uncontrollable consequences; we will respond recklessly and mercilessly.
He warned that the expansion of the war into targeting infrastructure will have long-term extensive economic repercussions, particularly for the oil market.
The US-Israeli military aggression against Iran has driven international energy and commodity prices to new highs.
Iran is responding to the aggression by attacking US military assets in oil-rich countries of the Persian Gulf. Iran has also blocked the Strait of Hormuz to oil and gas tankers affiliated with the aggressor regimes and
targeted some of the tankers that ignored warnings from the Iranian forces.
The disruption of tanker traffic in the strategic waterway, lying between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, has triggered a major surge in energy prices.
