On 32nd anniversary of Ibrahimi Mosque massacre, Hamas calls for prosecution of Zionist leaders

The Hamas Movement on Wednesday marked the 32nd anniversary of the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre by calling for Zionist leaders to be prosecuted for crimes against Palestinians and their holy sites.

In a statement, the Movement said the February 25, 1994 attack, when Israeli settler Baruch Goldstein opened fire on worshippers during dawn prayers at the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil, killing 29 Palestinians and wounding dozens, remains a defining symbol of what it described as Israeli violence against civilians.

Hamas said Israeli crimes “will not expire with time” and accused the Israeli government of continuing systematic violations in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, including at the Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The Movement also called on international bodies, including UNESCO, to take legal and moral responsibility by condemning ongoing violations and pressuring Israel to halt measures affecting the Ibrahimi Mosque and al-Khalil’s Old City.
