Egypt calls for carrying out Gaza ceasefire’s second phase, including Zionist regime’s withdrawal

Egypt has reaffirmed the importance of fully implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, including the deployment of an international stabilization force to monitor compliance and oversee Zionist regime’s withdrawal from the coastal enclave.

This came in a statement released by the Egyptian foreign ministry after foreign minister Badr Abdul-Ati met with Palestinian premier Mohamed Mustafa on the sidelines of the African Union summit, which kicked off in Addis Ababa on Saturday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed recent developments in the Palestinian arena and explored ways to implement the second phase of US president Donald Trump’s plan.

Minister Abdul-Ati stressed the need for the full implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, particularly the swift formation and deployment of an international stabilization force to monitor the truce, ensure the regular flow of humanitarian aid, and oversee the Zionist regime’s army’s withdrawal from the areas under its control in Gaza.

He also reiterated his country’s support for the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, describing it as a temporary transitional mechanism to manage the enclave’s daily affairs and meet residents’ basic needs.
