Barghouthi calls for national unity to foil Zionist regime’s schemes
Mustafa al-Barghouthi, secretary‑general of the Palestinian National Initiative, has called for necessarily rallying around a national struggle program to confront the Zionist regime’s occupation’s dangerous schemes targeting the Palestinian people.
In a statement on Friday, Barghouthi underscored the importance of resilience, steadfastness, and unity among the Palestinian people, while urging an end to the illusions of Oslo and peace talks with the occupation.
Barghouthi warned of ongoing efforts by the Israeli government and its settler groups to displace as many Palestinians as possible and to amend laws to seize more Palestinian lands in the West Bank.
Barghouthi added that the current settlement activity funded by the Zionist regime’s government and American money, along with giving settlers free rein in the West Bank, repeats the “settlement terrorism” used by Haganah gangs in 1948 to displace Palestinians.
The Palestinian leader affirmed that Gaza’s steadfastness shielded the West Bank from a massacre planned by the Zionist regime’s occupation regime, stressing that every Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim bears a responsibility to strengthen the resilience of Palestinians on their land.
He emphasized that Palestinians would never abandon Palestine or the West Bank, reiterating that steadfastness remains the decisive factor in thwarting Israel’s plots.
