Hamas delegation, Larijani meet in Doha, discuss regional developments
A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement met on Wednesday in Doha with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and discussed with him different issues of mutual interest.
The delegation, led by head of Hamas’s Shura Council Mohamed Darwish, briefed Larijani on the humanitarian and field situation in the Gaza Strip, highlighting Israel’s violations of the ceasefire agreement and its persistence in committing crimes against the civilian population.
Manwhile, Larijani briefed the Movement’s leadership on the latest developments regarding his country and its ongoing negotiations with the American side.
He underscored his country’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, lauding the Palestinian people’s sacrifices, resilience, and resistance and reaffirming Iran’s commitment to backing their struggle across all international arenas and events.
The head of Hamas’s Shura Council Mohamed Darwish affirmed that “the Palestinian resistance continues to stand firm on the ground, while shouldering its national and moral responsibilities towards its people, honoring its commitments to defend them, and working through all means to stop the aggression, lift the blockade, ensure the flow of humanitarian aid, and heal the wounds of its steadfast people in Gaza.”
The delegation also talked about the Israeli escalation of its aggressive and colonial measures in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and the Knesset’s recent approval of a plan to annex large areas of the occupied territories.
The Hamas leadership reiterated its solidarity with Iran and its rejection of any attack against it, stressing that any aggression against the Islamic country or any other regional state would destabilize security and stability across the area.
The meeting was attended by Khaled Mishaal, Nizar Awadallah, and other senior Hamas officials.
