Hamas calls for drawing on new UN report on Palestinian prisoners
The Hamas Movement has said that the new UN human rights report that has documented systematic torture and repression of Palestinian prisoners in Zionist regime's jails offers further proof of the Israeli occupation’s brutality and violations of international law.
“The UN Human Rights Office has issued a report documenting the systematic torture, coercion, and extortion being endured by Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, and it stands as yet another testament to the occupation’s brutality and its unprecedented grave violations of international law,” Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hamas condemned the inhumane Israeli practices against prisoners in jails, describing them as “violations of international law and the Geneva Convention relative to the treatment of prisoners.”
The Movement urged the international community, UN institutions, and the International Criminal Court to draw upon this UN documentation and to take decisive, practical measures to end Israel’s violations in its jails.
