Former U.S. military official, UN ex-diplomat told qodsna:

Islamic Revolution of Iran globalized Palestinian issue

Gordon Duff believes that the Islamic Revolution of Iran has transitioned from a revolutionary state to a stabilizing regional power.

Tehran, Qodsna –Gordon Duff, former UN Diplomat, former U.S. military official, Advisor to The Intel Drop, senior editor of Veterans Today and military analyst in an exclusive interview with the Qods News Agency talked about the impact of Imam Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution of Iran on the Palestinian issue and the formation of Islamic resistance movements and US and Zionist regime illegally attacks against Iran.

The interview comes as follows:

Qodsna: The anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran is coming up. What is the impact of Imam Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution of Iran on the Palestinian issue and the formation of Islamic resistance movements?

Gordon Duff: Before 1979, the Palestinian cause was largely framed by the West as a secular nationalist dispute or a "refugee crisis" to be managed by the UN. The Arab nationalist armies had failed in 1948, 1967, and 1973. The psychological defeat of the region was almost total.

Imam Khomeini’s Revolution shifted the center of gravity. He transformed the issue from a localized land dispute into a global spiritual and moral imperative—not just for Muslims, but for all oppressed peoples. By declaring Qods Day and explicitly linking the legitimacy of the Iranian state to the liberation of Palestine, he proved that a nation could stand against Western hegemony without a superpower sponsor.

This was the spark that allowed for the formation of the modern Resistance. Movements like Hezbollah and later the transformation within Palestinian factions moved away from the failed diplomacy of the "international community" and embraced the doctrine of self-reliance and asymmetric resistance. The Revolution proved that faith and endurance are superior to military hardware.

Qodsna: The United States and the Zionist regime illegally attacked Iran in June of this year and are trying to overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran, but by the grace of God, they have not succeeded after 47 years. What are the reasons for these hostilities with Iran in your opinion? How do you assess the future of the Islamic Revolution in Iran?

Gordon Duff: The hostility from Washington and Tel Aviv has never been about "democracy" or "human rights." It is purely about sovereignty. Since 1979, Iran has committed the unforgivable sin of the modern era: it refuses to be a vassal state.

Iran broke the chain of the petrodollar, it expelled the intelligence apparatus that used Tehran as a listening post for the region, and it refused to accept Israeli hegemony as a fact of life. The West fears Iran not because it is "dangerous," but because it is an example. If Iran can survive sanctions, sabotage, and war for 47 years and still advance its technology and influence, it proves the Western model of control is broken.

As for the future, the Islamic Revolution has transitioned from a revolutionary state to a stabilizing regional power. While the West faces internal social collapse, debt crises, and a loss of moral authority, Iran has hardened its resolve. The future belongs to the resilient. The "June attacks" were an act of desperation by failing empires that know their time is running out.

Qodsna: Do you condemn ant attacks by the US and the Zionist regime on Iran?

Gordon Duff: Absolutely. These attacks are violations of international law and sovereignty, but they are also acts of cowardice. They rely on standoff weaponry and terrorism because they lack the capacity to engage in an honest fight or a moral debate. Condemning them is the duty of any free person who believes in the right of nations to determine their own destiny.
