Zionist regime suffered humiliating defeat in recent terrorist war against Iran: Qalibaf
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has hailed the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) for its role in successfully overcoming the recent foreign-backed unrest, saying Israel orchestrated terrorist acts in an organized manner in different Iranian cities, but suffered a more humiliating defeat than in the 12-Day War.
Addressing the security and other staff of the parliament on the arrival of the blessed holidays of Shabaniyah and the Revolution Guard’s Day on Saturday, Qalibaf expressed gratitude to the IRGC and other forces for confronting terrorists, who committed Daesh-style crimes during the unrest.
He said that the Iranian nation must be thankful to every member of the Basij volunteer forces, IRGC, and police who were killed, burnt alive or injured during their brave presence on the ground to counter the terrorists, who were aided and funded by the Israeli regime, the United States, and their agents.
The defenders of Iran were oppressed, but they did not spare an iota of their religious and national zeal, so we salute their steadfastness and resistance, Qalibaf added.
Calling the IRGC one of the most unique organizations, the top lawmaker said that it is popular because it had emerged from the hearts, minds, and souls of ordinary Iranians, including students, professors, and farmers, etc.
"If there did not exist the Guard Corps, there would not exist a country either", Qalibaf quoted the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khomeini, and emphasized that the IRGC, in addition to protecting security, is the guardian of the country's national and religious identity, independence, and dignity.
