Hamas slams Katz’s intent to retain forces and build settlements in Gaza
The Hamas Movement has condemned Zionist regime’s war minister Yisrael Katz’s stated intent to retain forces in the Gaza Strip and build settlements in northern Gaza as a “glaring violation of the ceasefire agreement.”
In a statement on Tuesday, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said that Katz’s remarks expose the Zionist regime’s occupation government’s settlement plans and its intent to displace the Gaza population.
“Such remarks are completely at odds with the plan put forward by US president Donald Trump to establish peace in the region,” spokesman Qasem added.
Katz said on Tuesday that Zionist regime would never fully withdraw from the Gaza Strip or from Syria, and vowed to establish new settlements in Gaza.
According to a US-backed peace plan signed by both Hamas and the Zionist regime in October, the Zionist regime’s army will gradually withdraw from the entire Gaza Strip, and Israel will not re-establish Jewish settlements in the coastal territory.
