Israel prefers the chaos, even WWIII/ western political elite is in Israel’s thrall

Tehran (Qodsna)- Qods News Agency interviewed with a Canadian writer, senior journalist and political expert Eric Walberg,. 

The interview comes as follows:

Qodsna: How long will the West Bank tolerate the crimes of the Zionist regime? Will the repeated attacks of the Zionist regime not lead to the beginning of a widespread uprising of the Palestinian people, this time in an armed form?

Eric Walberg: Sadly, Israel is in total control of Palestine. It appears that the US can't stop it from accelerating the pace of the genocide against all Palestinians, both in Gaza and the West Bank. The entire western political elite is in their thrall. Israel continues to compete in Eurovision despite petitions with 100.000s of signatures. It continues to compete in EUFA and FIFA and the World Cup. Countries that protest are forced to withdraw. Arms keep being sent from countries like Canada which piously claims it is not sending them, but in fact is. Lying is part of Israel's arsenal and it poisons western politicians who love Israel for some perverse reason.

Palestinians have no arms supplier. Help from Iran has already led US-Israel to invade Iran with the vow of overturning the Iranian government. Israel successfully assassinated Hezbollah leaders and continues its war of extermination in Lebanon. We must sit and watch in horror.

Qodsna: Given the critical situation in the Zionist regime and the continuation of protests against the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the intensification of internal disputes, how do you assess the conditions facing this regime?

Eric Walberg: The world is in chaos, which fits Israel's agenda perfectly. The more chaos, the faster Israel can exterminate Palestinians.

The EU has adopted the Israeli playbook with respect to Ukraine. They cannot win against Russia and save fascist Ukraine, so it prefers that Russia keep killing Ukrainians while fomenting WWIII against Russia rather than accommodation.

Israel cannot win against the Palestinians so it prefers to continue its genocide against Palestinians rather than making accommodation with Palestinian. Israel prefers the chaos, even WWIII, to allowing the Palestinians to have their land and live in peace.

Qodsna: In recent days, there have been talk from within the Likud party to dismiss Netanyahu and end his political life. Will a change of prime minister solve the fundamental and unresolved problems of the Zionist regime?

Eric Walberg: Netanyahu is almost a god to half of Israelis, i.e., the genocidal settlers and their allies in Israel proper. That will not change unless the US stops funding him, which will not happen under Trump. The court case against Netanyahu is a show trial, to give Israel the facade of legality.

Even if he loses the next election, his rivals are in accord with the genocide, so it will not stop. There is some hope that a less Zionist US House and Senate will be elected in elections in November 2026. This might start to cut arms deliveries to Israel. Trump can always veto legislation so this will be a huge fight. That is the only ray of hope that I can see.
