Zionist regime issues new demolition orders for school and homes in Yatta

Zionist regime’s occupation authorities have escalated their demolition policies in the West Bank, issuing a demolition order on Monday evening for the Khillet Amira School, located in the Abu Shaban area east of Yatta in southern al-Khalil, a move that threatens the education of dozens of children.

Anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamreh stated that the targeted school consists of eight caravans where 54 students receive education from kindergarten to fourth grade. He noted that this is the second time the school has been targeted, following a previous stop-work order issued last year.

In addition, the occupation authorities have continued to pressure residents, issuing a stop-work notice for the home of Musa Mahmoud Imar in the Irfaiya area east of Yatta. The house is 180 square meters and houses six individuals. In a similar context, Naif Bassam Al-Amour also received a demolition notice for his 170-square-meter home.

These notices are part of a growing wave of demolitions across the West Bank. Recent UN data shows that Israel has demolished hundreds of homes and structures so far this year, displacing thousands, including hundreds of children. Palestinian officials have warned that these demolitions aim to impose new facts on the ground, particularly in Area “C” of the West Bank.
