Gaza war martyr toll among journalists rises to 256 after martyrdom of reporter
The Gaza Government Media Office (GMO) announced Wednesday that the number of Palestinian journalists martyred since the start of Zionist regime’s genocidal war on Gaza has risen to 256, following the martyrdom of reporter Mohammad al-Munirawi, who worked for Palestine newspaper.
In a statement, the GMO strongly condemned the systematic targeting and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Zionist regime’s occupation forces, calling it a deliberate effort to silence the truth and erase evidence of atrocities in Gaza.
The GMO urged the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and press unions worldwide to denounce these “premeditated crimes” against the press, stressing that silence encourages further attacks on media professionals.
The GMO held Zionist regime the US administration, and European partners in what it called “the genocidal campaign”, including the UK, Germany, and France, fully responsible for the ongoing killings and violations.
It called on the international community and relevant organizations to take concrete action to prosecute Israeli war criminals, stop the ongoing genocide, and protect journalists and media workers in Gaza from continued targeting and assassination.
