Shadeed: Settler violence in West Bank is a “systematic policy of terror”
Senior Hamas official Abdul-Rahman Shadeed has condemned the escalating brutal settler violence in the occupied West Bank during the olive harvest season, calling it a “systematic policy of terror targeting the Palestinian people, their land, and all aspects of their life.”
“Such settler attacks are part of a broader campaign of aggression against the Palestinian people since the genocidal war started in Gaza,” Shadeed said in a statement on Saturday.
The Hamas official also described the settler violence in the West Bank as “part of efforts to expand settlements, intimidate local residents, and force them off their land, under a displacement and annexation plan backed by the fascist occupation government.”
He saluted what he described as the “steadfast farmers and citizens who confront settler assaults with nothing but their bare chests,” calling for activating the role of the popular committees in protecting West Bank towns and villages.
