Yemen urges unified Islamic stance against Zionist regime

The Yemeni government has reaffirmed its support for the people of Gaza following the enforcement of a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Zionist regime

President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, made the comment in a speech on Monday marking the 62nd anniversary of Yemen’s revolution.

Mashat called on Arab and Islamic countries to adopt a united stance on Israel’s violations against regional countries.

He said Yemen will continue to closely and diligently monitor the implementation of the truce agreement and the entry of aid into Gaza.

Mashat warned that Yemen is ready to respond to any developments regarding the Gaza truce.

He commended the sacrifices made by all those who have stood by the oppressed Palestinian people, especially Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement, as well as the people of Iraq and Iran.

Mashat praised the positions taken by people across the world against the Israeli crime of genocide and starvation in Gaza.

He also thanked all countries that have severed relations with Israel or imposed deterrent sanctions on it.

“We will work to develop and advance our military capabilities in all fields to enable us to confront all the enemy's modern military technologies,” Mashat said.

“Developing our military capabilities comes within the framework of preparedness and readiness for any new developments and to achieve deterrence in light of the fierce aggression against our country and our nation,” he added.

“We will continue to defend our country until every inch of the territory of the Republic of Yemen is liberated and every usurping occupier who has violated the people's wealth and shed the blood of its sons is expelled.”

Since the onset of Zionist regime’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, Yemen’s forces have carried out scores of operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the occupied territories.

After more than two years of relentless bombardment that killed tens of thousands of Palestinians, the Israeli regime bowed to international pressure and approved a US-brokered agreement to halt its genocidal war on Gaza and exchange prisoners with Palestinian resistance factions.

The office of Zionist regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced early on October 10 that the regime’s cabinet had approved a deal to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

The deal followed four days of indirect talks between the two sides in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, with delegations from Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar, under US supervision.

Under the deal, the Zionist regime’s army is required to withdraw to the so-called “yellow line” within 24 hours, after which Hamas will release the remaining living prisoners within 72 hours.

Since October 2023, the Zionist regime’s brutal campaign has killed at least 67,869 Palestinians — mostly women and children — and reduced Gaza to ruins, drawing global outrage and calls for accountability.
