No Music for Genocide:

100s of musicians launch ‘cultural boycott’ against Zionist regime

More than 400 internationally-renowned musicians have launched a boycott campaign, calling for their art to be removed from Israeli streaming platforms over Zionist regime’s ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

“No Music for Genocide” saw the artists sign a relevant petition that urged withdrawal of their tracks from the digital platforms, Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported on Thursday.

“Culture can’t stop bombs on its own, but it can help reject political repression, shift public opinion toward justice, and refuse the art-washing and normalization of any company or nation that commits crimes against humanity,” they said.

Participants include popular acts such as Britain’s Massive Attack, Scotland’s Primal Scream, and American indie act Japanese Breakfast.

Solo acts include American singer-songwriter Carole King, Japanese pop star Rina Sawayama, and Danish artist MO.

The campaigners seek to bring pressure to bear on major record labels such as Sony, Universal, and Warner to support the campaign.

The regime’s brutal military assault against the densely-populated Palestinian territory has claimed the lives of nearly 65,200 Palestinians, mostly women and children, since its onset in October 7, 2023.

It has been using a combination of incessant aerial and ground attacks and near-total siege of the Palestinian territory towards maximizing suffering and fatalities.

The campaign echoes numerous international drives aimed at isolating the regime over its war crimes and crimes against humanity against Gaza’s two-million-plus-strong population.

Also on Thursday, it was reported that an international campaign powered, among others, by renowned former footballers and football support groups was seeking to prompt countries to boycott the Israeli football team.

#GameOverIsrael, launched on Tuesday, strives to make some of the countries priding themselves on trailblazing football history, including England, France, Italy, and Spain, to suspend the team.

Many world famous’ actors have also launched similar campaigns, including by denouncing the regime on the red carpet and refusing to work with Israeli companies.
