Araghchi: Muslim countries must confront Israel’s ‘law of the jungle’ against region

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on Muslim countries to enhance cooperation and interaction across all sectors to counter the Zionist regime’s “law of the jungle” against the regional countries.

Araghchi said the Islamic Republic invites all Muslim states to boost partnership and cooperation in all fields to serve their nations and confront the law of the jungle, which is being implemented by the Israeli regime with the backing of the United States and several Western governments.

In an interview with the Arabi 21 news website, he urged Muslim and West Asian countries to act immediately to stop war and massacre and to counter the regime’s schemes in Palestine and the entire region.

The Iranian minister pointed to several fruitless Arab, Islamic, and international meetings held on Palestine so far. He said the Palestinian people do not merely need words but require food, medicine, the fulfillment of all their needs and an end to the injustices to which they are exposed.

‘Reminiscent of Israel's attacks against Iranian scientists’

Araghchi said the recent Zionist regime’s acts of aggression targeting the political leadership of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in Qatar were reminiscent of similar attacks and terrorist crimes committed by the regime against Iranian scientists and politicians.

The strikes were also similar to Israel’s crimes against the leaders of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance fronts over the past two years in Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and other regions, he said.

The Iranian foreign minister said such moves signal that the Zionist regime does not respect any red lines.

On June 13, Zionist regime launched an unprovoked war against Iran, assassinating many high-ranking military commanders, nuclear scientists, and ordinary civilians.

On September 9, Zionist regime launched airstrikes on the headquarters of Hamas in Doha, in what was described as an “assassination operation” that claimed the lives of several members of the movement as well as a Qatari security officer.

The top Hamas leadership, including Khalil al-Hayya, Khaled Meshal, and Zaher Jabarin, survived the assassination attempt.

Qatar has been a key regional mediator in negotiations between Hamas and Israel, whose prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, threatened on September 10 to try to kill Hamas leaders in Qatar again if Doha "does not expel" the group’s officials.

Araghchi warned against the dangers of Israel’s acts of aggression against the Syrian and Lebanese territories and the regime’s new colonial project to partition Syria and occupy more Syrian land, particularly in the southern areas and the occupied Golan Heights.

The top Iranian diplomat called on Arab, Muslim and Asian countries to take a collective action to thwart the plan for Syria’s disintegration and the expansion of the Israeli regime’s spheres of influence in pursuit of the “myth of Greater Israel.”
