Hamas blasts Israel’s limited aid drops as deceptive ploy prolonging Gaza starvation

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has denounced Zionist regime's limited airdrops of aid over parts of the Gaza Strip as a “deceptive” ploy aimed at managing starvation in the besieged territory, rather than ending it.

“The criminal Israeli regime’s resort to limited airdrops of aid over parts of Gaza is nothing but a deceptive and sham move to burnish its image before the international community,” the Gaza-based group said in a statement on Sunday.

It said the Zionist regime’s “airdrop operations and so-called ‘humanitarian corridors’ represent an exposed policy to manage starvation, not to end it.”

Hamas underlined that the only solution to end the brutal starvation policy in Gaza is through halting the Israeli aggression, lifting the criminal siege, and fully opening land crossings to ensure the flow of aid under UN distribution mechanisms.

“The steps taken by the cabinet of war criminal Netanyahu to impose inhumane mechanisms to control aid and perpetuate starvation — which have already killed over 1,000 and injured nearly 6,000 civilians — constitute clear war crimes,” it said.

Hamas finally underlined the critical need for sustained international official and popular pressure to break the siege, stop the genocide and starvation crimes, and not to be deceived by the propaganda of the fascist Tel Aviv regime.

At least 11 displaced Palestinians were injured in northern Gaza on Sunday, when food parcels were dropped on their tents as part of an airdrop.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says Zionist regime’s blockade of Gaza clearly contravenes international law.

The Government Media Office of Gaza has issued a warning regarding an unparalleled humanitarian disaster, indicating that over 100,000 children, among them 40,000 infants, are at risk of life-threatening hunger as a result of the blockade.

The overall death count resulting from starvation and malnutrition has currently reached 122, including 83 children, and it is projected to escalate rapidly as the siege and the closure of crossings persist.

In the meantime, United Nations agencies and humanitarian organizations have issued critical alerts indicating that therapeutic food for children suffering from severe malnutrition is on the verge of depletion, putting the lives of thousands of the most vulnerable individuals in jeopardy.

At least 59,733 Palestinians have been martyred, mostly women and children, and another 144,477 individuals injured in the brutal Zionist regime’s onslaught on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
