A Canadian writer, senior journalist told Qodsna:
Israel's and U.S. attacks on Iran ‘unlawful & illegal’

Eric Walberg told Qodsna that Islamic Republic of Iran reserves right to defend itself legitimately saying Iran's successful bombing of Israeli military targets was welcomed by the people of the world.
Tehran (Qodsna)- The Zionist regime launched an all-out aggression on Iranian soil on June 13, striking various military and nuclear sites and assassinating top-ranking military commanders and nuclear scientists, as well as ordinary civilians.
The Iranian Armed Forces, in response, pounded the regime and its military and industrial infrastructure, using new-generation missiles that pierced through Israel's multilayered anti-missile system and hit their designated targets.
The United States inserted itself into Zionist regime’s war against Iran, bombing three of the Islamic Republic’s key nuclear sites.
Zionist regime and United Sates blatantly violated UN Charter in attack against Islamic Republic of Iran.
The martyr of more than one thousand Iranians has been confirmed in Zionist regime’s attacks on Iran. More than half of the victims were ordinary citizens and non-combatants.
Zionist regime unilaterally halted its aggression on Iran after US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire, which, according to his former advisor Steve Bannon, Tel Aviv had to accept to “save” itself as the aggression it launched exceeded its capabilities.
Many experts and international bodies have condemned recent Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran, calling them a violation of the United Nations Charter and a threat to regional and global stability.
On this side, Qodsna have interviewed by a Canadian writer, senior journalist and political expert Eric Walberg.
The interview comes as follows:
Qodsna: Iran reserves right to defend itself legitimately. What is your take on Iran’s punitive response to Israel and U.S, especially in terms of international laws?
Eric Walberg: Iran's successful bombing of Israeli military targets was welcomed by the people of the world but not by 'collective West' leaders and media. The elite in the 'collective West', i.e., the colonial countries of yesterday and today, which control world finance and economy, were cheerleaders of US-Israel's attack on Iran, along with western media.
This was illegal under US law and under international law and was intended to decapitate the Iranian government using Israeli sanayim (volunteer Jewish terrorist agents) and Iranian traitors. Iran weathered this subversion and launched hypersonic missiles which devastated Israel.
The world breathed a collective sigh of relief that US-Israel was rudely wakened to its folly and quickly asked for mercy. It was even comical the way the cowards, led by Trump, rushed to call for a truce. Iran follows shariah law, which makes clear that when the enemy appeals for a truce, a Muslim country accepts the end of hostilities. US-Israel act like gruesome clowns, Iran acts with dignity and courage.
Qodsna: Palestinians in the blockaded Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank as well as occupied al-Quds have welcomed the Iranian retaliatory operation against the Zionist regime. Resistance movements including Palestinian movements have hailed the Iranian response. How do you assess the impact of Iran's attacks on Israel on the resistance forces?
Eric Walberg: Incredibly, despite their devastating losses, Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders vow to continue the war against Iran, supposedly to prevent Iran from developing an atomic bomb. This has been Netanyahu's song for 25 years, the Iranian bogeyman. Sadly, brainwashed 'collective West' media and leaders shout this chorus, insulting our intelligence. Fortunately, with Internet, the truth can trickle out. World public opinion is being shaped more democratically for now.
Hezbollah is now under intense pressure by US-Israel to lay down its arms. It vows never to surrender to Israel, and demands Israel leave Lebanon. US-Israel and the now puppet government in Beirut say that disarmament must start now, but no Lebanese believe these cowardly appeals. No resistance movement disarms if its land is occupied.
This truism goes for Hamas in Gaza. Qassam described the struggle against US-Israel as divine and unstoppable. Iran's success greatly inspired the starving and valiant Gazans, the starving and valiant Houthis.
Iran's brilliant and just attack on US-Israel was the first real threat to Israel, showing that its vain attempt to have an 'iron dome' protecting it was a pipe dream. Despite Israeli warmongering and threats, it is like an ugly, vicious dog barking loudly, but there is no doubt in my mind that if Iran is attacked again, Israel will get a crushing response and finally become a failed state, bankrupt, its citizens fleeing (70% have foreign passports). This contrasts with Iranians, who -- whether they are pro or anti-government -- rallied to the national and buried their differences to save their homeland.
Qodsna: Zionist regime continues the war on Palestine, Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and region. Why is the international community not doing anything to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime?
Eric Walberg: Russia, China and Pakistan are supporting Iran openly. The Arab leaders also are hardening their position against Israel. Sadly, Jordan and Egypt are US puppets, and shot down Iranian missiles, even as Jordanians and Egyptians cheered Iran on. Outside the 'collective West' US-Israel's campaign of terror in Palestine and Iran are rejected, and world sentiment against US-Israel is gaining momentum.
The resistance forces now have international approval. Iran's crushing blows to Israel have wakened the world to the possible of fighting the world Jewish forces behind Israel and world war. There is no end to this madness until the world economy is wrested from them. 'American exceptionalism' and the 'chosen people' and do not mean a US-Israeli world empire.
China is playing the waiting game, still hoping to come out ahead with both sides, worried about its huge reserve of US government bonds. Russia is fighting NATO on its own and can't provide much support, but the Iran-Russia Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership signed on 17 January 2025, by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, will lead to military assistance. Both Russia and China are on Iran's side and their huge economies are Iran's lifeline against the 'collective West's' attempts to return a puppet shah to the seat of power in Tehran. We are living through the birth Pangs of a new world order, with Iran, Russia and China leading the way.
