Hezbollah vows not to remain silent in face of Zionist regime’s violations; asserts victory is on its side

Hezbollah has vowed not to remain silent in the face of the Zionist regime’s violations of a ceasefire agreement with the Lebanese resistance movement, asserting certainty of the resistance’s victory against the Zionist entity.

“We are a people who say, ‘Far from us is humiliation,’ and you have tested us,” the movement’s Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem said during an address on Saturday.

The resistance leader was referencing a phrase uttered by Imam Hussain (AS) at the height of the Third Shia Imam’s battle against the tyrant of the time, Yazid ibn Muawiya, in 680 AD.

“The central question is, ‘Are you fighting for the truth or not? Do you accept to live in humiliation or not?’” Sheikh Qassem asked.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he addressed the United States, the Israeli regime’s, and their allies’ insistence on the movement’s laying down its arms, roundly rejecting the prospect.

“Is there anyone with a sound mind who would abandon their sources of strength while the Israeli side does not implement the agreement and continues its violations?”

The deal came about last November with the expected goal of the Israeli regime’s ending its escalated deadly aggression against Lebanon.

The aggression had begun in October 2023 in response to Hezbollah’s determined operations in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who had come under a genocidal Israeli war earlier that month.

Sheikh Qassem hailed Hezbollah’s forcing the regime to agree to the deal as a result of the movement’s numerous strikes against highly strategic targets across the occupied Palestinian territories.

“We remained steadfast until the moment the ceasefire was declared, striking painful blows to the enemy and hurting them.”

Sheikh Qassem, meanwhile, stressed the resistance’s confidence in triumph in the face of occupation and aggression, maintaining, “When we are given a choice, we have only one option: Dignity. We win…, if not on the first day, then on the second or third.”

“We are always victorious, either through victory [itself] or martyrdom,” he added, underscoring resistance fighters’ dedication to sacrifice their lives down the path of struggle in the face of oppression, and their resolve to emerge even stronger after suffering losses.

Sheikh Qassem also cautioned that the movement had to keep reinforcing its resources “properly and with correct foundations.”

He also warned that the Zionist regime would cling onto every opportunity to advance its expansionist goals and divide the Lebanese people’s ranks.

“Whenever there is a weak party, it means that Israel will [try to] expand and take everything.”

Separately throughout the speech, the resistance leader condoled with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian people, and the Islamic Republic’s armed forces over the martyrdom of senior Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians during a recent unprovoked Israeli war.
