Rights groups: Israel issues 600 administrative detention orders in two weeks

The Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) stated that Israeli intelligence has issued more than 600 administrative detention orders over the past two weeks, adding to the thousands of such orders issued since the beginning of the genocidal war.
In a joint statement released Tuesday, the two groups said there has been an unprecedented increase in the number of administrative detainees since the onset of the genocide, including women and children.
As of June, the number of administrative detainees has reached 3,562, including at least 95 children under the age of 18.
They emphasized that the number of administrative detainees since the start of the genocide marks the highest in history and currently exceeds the number of sentenced and pre-trial detainees in Israeli prisons.
Administrative detention is one of the most prominent systematic and historical policies used by Israeli authorities against Palestinians, aiming to suppress any rising resistance and target activists across all societal, political, and cultural spheres, the organizations added.
The rights groups also noted that eight administrative captives have died in Israeli prisons since the beginning of the genocidal war, out of a total of 72 prisoners who have died during this period.
