Mass demonstrations in Morocco and Yemen show unwavering solidarity with Gaza

Thousands of Moroccans and millions of Yemenis took to the streets on Friday in mass rallies to express their unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and to denounce the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, now entering its 76th consecutive week.
In Morocco, demonstrations were organized by the Moroccan Commission for the Support of Ummah Causes, a non-governmental organization. Held under the slogan “No Nakba after the Flood, No Normalization with Aggression,” the protests spanned multiple cities including Sidi Bennour, Abi al-Jaad, Kasba Tadla, M’diq, Fez, Meknes, Kenitra, Berkane, Oujda, and Agadir.
Participants called for continued support for the Palestinian cause and urgent humanitarian aid for Gaza, which has been under a strict Israeli blockade since March 2. The siege has plunged the enclave into a devastating famine. Protesters chanted slogans such as “Morocco and Palestine, one people, not two,” “The people want to free Palestine,” and “March on, resistance… toward victory and liberation.”
Meanwhile, in Yemen, millions gathered in the capital Sana’a and across other provinces under the banner “With Gaza… to Confront Genocide and Starvation.” Protesters waved Yemeni and Palestinian flags alongside banners denouncing Israeli atrocities and American policies in the region.
The demonstrators also praised recent Yemeni military operations, including missile strikes targeting Israel’s Lod Airport, and called for continued resistance until Zionist regime ends its blockade and aggression against Gaza.
The mass rallies condemned the silence of Arab governments, especially Gulf rulers, who were criticized for funneling trillions of dollars to former US President Donald Trump—seen by protesters as complicit in the genocide in Gaza.
A statement issued at the end of the Yemeni demonstrations affirmed the people’s steadfast support for the Palestinian struggle and their commitment to continue weekly marches without fatigue or hesitation. Addressing the Palestinian people on the anniversary of the Nakba, the statement read: “Through your resistance, patience, and unmatched perseverance, you are preventing history from repeating itself. By Allah’s will, the Nakba will not happen again—what awaits instead is the fulfillment of Allah’s promise and the end of the oppressive Zionist entity.”
The statement also denounced Trump’s recent visits to Persian Gulf capitals, describing them as acts of arrogance and complicity with Israel’s crimes. It reminded the Muslim world of its religious, moral, and humanitarian duty to act decisively in defense of the Palestinian people and Islamic holy sites.
In closing, the statement called for a broad economic boycott of Zionist regime and its allies, stressing that no Muslim is exempt from this duty. It also urged scholars, intellectuals, and political leaders to raise awareness and mobilize the public in defense of justice and the Palestinian cause.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with unwavering US support, has waged a deadly military campaign in Gaza that has resulted in around 173,000 casualties, mostly women and children, and more than 11,000 missing persons.
