Zionist regime executes 43 Palestinian captives from Gaza since October 7, 2023

The Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies reported that the Zionist regime’s occupation has not only martyred tens of thousands of residents in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war of genocide in October 2023, but has also carried out field executions of Palestinian captives from Gaza captured during the conflict.

To date, 43 detainees whose identities are known have been executed.

In a report issued Friday, the Center stated that Zionist regime’s forces have arrested more than 11,000 Palestinian citizens since the start of the war on Gaza and subjected them to various forms of abuse and torture, with many being executed while in detention.

The report confirmed that 43 names have been identified among those executed, while Zionist regime continues to conceal the identities of dozens of other detainees who were allegedly killed in various ways.

The center revealed that Zionist regime has established new military-run detention camps to accommodate the large number of detainees arrested after October 7. Within these camps, detainees have reportedly endured internationally banned methods of torture, as well as other inhumane practices, including sexual abuse, severe deprivation of basic needs, and a deliberate starvation policy.

According to the report, Israel has committed medical negligence against injured and sick detainees, whose bodies have deteriorated due to harsh detention conditions, including denial of food, clothing, and sleep. This has directly led to the confirmed deaths of 43 detainees, whose names were later made public, while many others are still unaccounted for.

The center indicated that most of the unidentified detainees were arrested from displacement shelters or hospitals and, after varying periods of interrogation, were reportedly executed by gunfire while in custody, often while their hands were tied, suggesting there was no threat posed by them. Others are believed to have died under torture or neglect in the newly established detention centers.

The report noted that Israel’s recent announcement of the identities of three Palestinian martyrs from Gaza—in response to pressure from human rights organizations—indicates that many others remain missing as part of Israel’s policy of enforced disappearance of detainees from Gaza.

The center added that since October 7, Israel has consistently practiced enforced disappearance against detainees from Gaza, creating conditions for them to be killed without oversight or accountability and under legal and legislative cover provided to Israeli intelligence (Shin Bet) and army personnel in prisons such as Sde Teiman, Naqab, Ofer, Minshar, and Nafha. The report describes this as a clear war crime, requiring the prosecution of Israeli commanders who issued these orders.

The total number of Palestinian prisoner martyrs since 1967 has now risen to 306, including 69 who have died since the start of the current war on Gaza. Israel continues to withhold the bodies of 77 of those killed, refusing to release them to their families.

The Palestine Center for Prisoner Studies warned that the number of deaths in Israeli prisons is expected to rise due to ongoing torture, medical neglect, hunger, and psychological terror under a policy of deliberate abuse encouraged by Israel’s far-right government, which protects those responsible for these crimes.

The center called on the international community and human rights organizations to urgently intervene and form independent investigation committees to document the crimes of killing and torture against detainees, to pressure Israel to end these violations, and to demand that the International Criminal Court prosecute Israeli leaders as war criminals for their direct responsibility in these acts and for shielding those who carry them out.

Earlier on Friday, Zionist regime’s authorities released 10 Palestinian detainees from Gaza, including one who had his leg amputated while in custody.

Local sources reported that the released detainees were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza. The detainee with an amputated leg arrived via a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance.

Zionist regime occasionally releases small numbers of detainees it has arrested from Gaza since the start of its genocidal war in October 2023. Many of them show visible signs of torture, exhaustion, and starvation, reflecting the racist and abusive policies they are subjected to in Zionist regime’s prisons.
