Hamas: Twenty-one years after Al-Aqsa Intifada, resistance continues

On the twenty-first anniversary of the blessed Al-Aqsa Intifada, the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" issued the following statement:

Al-Aqsa Intifada represented a milestone in the history of our Palestinian people as it brought back consideration for the Palestinian cause after it was lost in the Oslo accords, and affirmed that resistance is the only path to freedom from the Zionist enemy, the only enemy of the Palestinian people.

The intifada erupted when the Zionist criminal Sharon stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, taking advantage of the illusion of the so-called peace process as a result of the Oslo Accords. As a result, all our Palestinian components revolted against the occupation and were involved in resistance where thousands were killed and detained in the struggle for defending the Palestinian land and avenging the holy sanctities.

After more than two decades of Al-Aqsa Intifada, the Zionist enemy faced even more fierce resistance backed by the Palestinian people represented in the battle of "Sword of Jerusalem (Al-Quds)".

The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" on the anniversary of the blessed Al-Aqsa Intifada affirms the following:

First: We salute the souls of our Palestinian people’s martyrs, wounded and detainees, the heroes who, with their sacrifices made glory for Jerusalem, Palestine, and its great people in the battles that extended all over Palestine which the heroes of our resistance embodied a model in unity and achieved deterrence and victory.

We call on the Palestinian people to general mobilization to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque from the colonial settlers as we warn the Zionist enemy against continuing the policy of trying to desecrate Al-Aqsa and violating the sanctities, which will result in a new and resounding explosion.

Second: Greetings to all our Palestinian people who fought this blessed intifada throughout Palestine in support of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and in response to the Zionist aggression that targeted the sanctities.

Third: The blessed Al-Aqsa Intifada emerged to confirm the unity and integrity of the Arab and Islamic nations in facing the Zionist conspiracies and schemes and supporting the steadfastness of our Palestinian people in facing the occupation's injustice and aggression.

Fourth: The great victories of the valiant resistance against the Zionist occupation, the last of which was its victory in the Battle of the "Sword of Jerusalem", requires to expedite the adoption of a national action strategy, based on the option of unity and resistance with all its tools and forms, foremost of which is the armed resistance.

It also requires aborting the ominous Oslo Accords and stopping the settlement projects with the successive US administrations that tore the Palestinian cause and the prolonged the life of the occupation.
