Hamas delegation meets Qatari Emir to discuss Palestinian cause

A senior Hamas delegation led by the movement’s chief Ismail Haniyeh visited on Sunday afternoon Emir of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

The delegation included Hamas official Dr Musa Abu Marzouq, Mohammed Nazzal, Ezzat Al-Rishq, Husam Badran, Zaher Jabareen, and Maher Obeid.

The Head of Hamas Politburo congratulated the Qatari Emir on the success of the 41st Summit of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC), hoping that this meeting will pave the way for resolving intra-Arab disputes completely.

The Hamas chief and the delegation hailed the endeavours made by Qatar to heal the Palestinian rift and promote national unity. They also thanked the Emir of Qatar for supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, above all the monthly grant provided as humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Haniyeh confirmed that Hamas has responded positively to the recent efforts to achieve national unity.

The movement has recently agreed to hold the legislative, presidential, and national council elections consecutively, a point which long hindered reconciliation.

All developments concerning the Palestinian cause were thoroughly discussed in the meeting.
