Hamas chief congratulates Qatari Emir on Persian Gulf reconciliation

Haniyeh said that this achievement “will enhance joint Arab action and efforts to defend Arab and Muslim issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.”
Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh offered on Wednesday evening his sincere congratulations to Qatari Emir His Highness Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on reconciliation with Arab states and the success of Al-Ula summit.
In a press release, Hamas reported that Haniyeh welcomed the Solidarity Agreement announced during the summit, which was attended by the Persian Gulf leaders in addition to Egypt, as an “Arab and Islamic achievement.”
The top Hamas leader also said: “This move will positively affect the Palestinian cause and bring it back to the focus point of the Arab attention and achieved support for our people’s right to end the occupation and establish their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.”
Hamas chief praised all efforts exerted by the various sides, foremost among them Kuwait, to restore ties between the Persian Gulf neighbours, hoping that this summit would “reinforce the values of solidarity and consensus among all Arab states.”
