Head of Hamas security forces injured in assassination attempt in Gaza

Commander of the Hamas security forces in Gaza, Palestinian National Security Forces, and Major General Tawfik Abu Naim was lightly wounded as a result of a failed assassination attempt.
Commander of the Hamas security forces in Gaza, Palestinian National Security Forces, and Major General Tawfik Abu Naim was lightly wounded as a result of a failed assassination attempt.
Abu Naim was injured when he opened his car after Friday prayers at a mosque in Nuseirat refugee camp in Central Gaza.
Major General Abu Naim was transferred immediately after the incident to the hospital, according to Iyad Al-Bazem, the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior and National Security.
A security source earlier told PIC that Abu Naim’s car was blown up at the entrance to Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip leading to light injuries.
Bazem explained that Hamas security forces immediately began their investigations to find out the circumstances of the incident and to reach the perpetrators.
A state of emergency among Hamas security forces were announced after the injury of the Director General of the Internal Security Forces in Gaza Tawfiq Abu Naim Friday afternoon in a failed assassinate attempt.
