Defeat awaits enemies in face of strong Iran’s resolve: Armed Forces

Speaking on Sunday, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi cited the developments that faced the United States, including the repeated setbacks suffered by US President Donald Trump and his fellow Republicans on various fronts, as cases in point.

Trump and his “unwise, hardline, and terrorist” associates waged aggression against Iran with the aim of destroying the proud and civilized country, the spokesman noted.

“However, in a reversal of fortunes, they themselves became victims of strategic attrition, deep-seated domestic crises, and defeats inflicted by Iran’s valiant Armed Forces and the Axis of Resistance.”

He went on to address the Republicans’ rout in the midterms that ensued the US’s military defeat in the face of Iran’s retaliation.

The defeat is “not merely the result of superficial fluctuations in US domestic politics,” he said, adding that it rather reflects “a much greater and undeniable reality: Defeat in the face of strong Iran’s resolve.”

Elaborating on the United States’ defeats against the Islamic Republic, Shekarchi said Washington’s doctrine of aggression, assassination, and maximum pressure, as well as its ineffective military strategies, have failed in the face of the deterrent power and cast-iron will of the Islamic Republic’s leadership, the Iranian nation, and the country’s Armed Forces.

“The hostile policies pursued by senior US officials against Iran, its (Washington’s) repeated failures across the world, particularly in West Asia, the collapse of the hollow aura of invincibility surrounding the military fleet and equipment of the aggressor United States, and the impasse facing its threats, have shaken the foundations of the White House’s hollow power.”

This strategic defeat stands as living proof of the fact that the global balance of power will never be shaped to the advantage of hegemonic powers, Shekarchi added.
