Iran has proven itself as a major power

American expert told Qodsna that there is no doubt that Iran has proven itself to be a major power, capable of defending itself and expelling non-indigenous imperialist powers from their region of Southwest Asia.

Tehran, Qodsna – Paul Larudee, American political activist, in an exclusive interview with the Qods News Agency talked about the violation of the ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, upcoming election in Zionist regime and the U.S.-Israeli illegal war on Iran.

The interview comes as follows:

Qodsna: Despite the ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, the Zionist regime continues to violate the ceasefire. The Zionist regime has expanded its movements and wars in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria ahead of the it’s election. What do you think about these moves?

Paul Larudee: The ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon are a figment of the imagination of the US, its imperialist partners and its subservient corporate press. There is no ceasefire in Syria - even in anyone's imagination - where Israel continues to conquer additional territories. The Zionist murderers have never ceased firing anywhere except against Iran, and only because Iran has made them pay a very high price for their actions, which is the only language that they understand. Iran has also threatened to retaliate for the Zionist genocidal actions in Lebanon and Gaza, but until now, those actions have not reached the level where Iran feels the need to respond directly, while Hezbollah and Hamas periodically continue armed resistance. This could change at any time, when Iran's patience is at an end or when Zionist provocation escalates.

Qodsna: How do you assess Netanyahu's future in the upcoming election?

Paul Larudee: Netanyahu will not win this election, but neither will any other candidate or party. Efforts to form a government will fail, leaving Netanyahu in charge of a caretaker government that will be of only uncontroversial decisions. Netanyahu will government increasingly as an autocrat in the midst of chaos, where he will depend increasingly on the most extreme and fanatical constituency. Emigration will continue to reduce the population and increase the power of the fanatics. Netanyahu's health is also a factor. If he dies or is completely incapacitated, the Zionists will be even more divided, and their population will shrink even faster. The Zionist project will become little more than a fortress redoubt before it withers away, much like the last Crusader kingdoms a millennium ago.

Qodsna: Many analysts believe that the United States and Zionist regime have failed to achieve their goals in the illegal war against Iran. In return, Iran became a world power. What do you think about this? And how do you assess Iran's strength?

Paul Larudee: There is no doubt that Iran has proven itself to be a major power, capable of defending itself and expelling non-indigenous imperialist powers from their region of Southwest Asia. This is due in part to its vast, defensible and strategic geography, and its economic resources, but also to its large and highly educated engineering expertise, as well as its technical resources and its governing structure, which survived assaults, assassinations and attacks that would have debilitated other nations. The economy is currently the weakest sector, but it is highly resourceful, and has proven capable of resisting the most onerous sanctions, and diversing itself in creative ways, so that when the sanctions are lifted or become meaningless, and the current war has ended, Iran is poised to become a major center of industry and technology, a leading power in its region.
