Iran Army hits US helicopter, reconnaissance aircraft base in Bahrain

The Iranian Army has carried out the 11th phase of Operation Thunder, striking a US military base in Bahrain that housed helicopters and P-8 reconnaissance aircraft of the American terrorist army, in response to the enemy's hostile acts targeting civilian infrastructure and innocent people.

The Army announced on Friday that the strike was carried out using Arash explosive drones, targeting the Al-Sakhir base in Bahrain.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran Army, in the 11th phase of Operation Thunder, targeted the base of helicopters and P-8 reconnaissance aircraft of the US terrorist army at the Al-Sakhir base in Bahrain," the statement said.

The Army emphasized that the security and independence of the nation are its red lines, warning that it will respond "swiftly and decisively" to any enemy aggression.

"Any miscalculation in assessing the will and endurance of the nation and the combat capability of the Army and the IRGC will come at a heavy cost to the arrogant enemy," the statement added.

The latest strike is part of a broader campaign of retaliation by Iran's armed forces against American military targets across the region, following repeated US violations of the ceasefire and continued attacks on Iranian territory.

Over the past week, the United States has launched multiple waves of strikes on Iran, targeting civilian infrastructure including bridges, a railway station, airports, and residential neighborhoods.

At least 35 civilians, including women and children, have been killed and more than 300 injured in the current wave of US attacks, according to Iran's Health Ministry.

In response, Iran's armed forces have conducted successive phases of retaliatory operations.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army have struck US military facilities across the Persian Gulf region, including bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan.

On July 8, the IRGC launched a large-scale attack on 85 US military targets in Bahrain and Kuwait in an initial response to American aggression.

The United States and Israel launched their unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on February 28, with the initial strikes martyring late Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Despite a 14-point memorandum of understanding signed on June 17 that was meant to lay the groundwork for a permanent peace deal, Washington has repeatedly violated the agreement, reimposing oil sanctions and continuing military strikes.

Iran has recorded at least 42 significant US violations since the MoU was signed, with Tehran declaring it will no longer be bound by the agreement if violations persist.
