Head of Iran's National Security Commission to Trump: You threaten, we act
The head of Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission addressed the US President, saying: "You threaten, we act. The Strait of Hormuz is neither your personal casino, nor the backyard of modern pirates."
Ebrahim Azizi, head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, wrote in a post on his personal X social media account in response to Trump's recent threats:
"You threaten, we act.
The Strait of Hormuz is neither your personal casino, nor the backyard of modern pirates. These are Iran's national waters, and the final decision-makers are the brave people of Iran and their courageous armed forces."
Yesterday, simultaneously with the Switzerland negotiations, the contradictory US President, in violation of Clause 1 of the Islamabad Understanding – which obligates both sides to refrain from threatening or using force against each other – used harsh and impolite language regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, threatening the Iranian representatives present at the negotiations that "if Iran closes the strait, you will no longer have a country, and you won't even return to your damn country!"
These remarks come as Vance, head of the US delegation at the Switzerland negotiations, had claimed that Trump had tasked them with ensuring a comprehensive ceasefire in the region.
In absurd remarks, Trump claimed that the US is the guardian of the Strait of Hormuz and the Middle East, saying: "We may seize the Strait of Hormuz in the future and take 20 percent of the oil that passes through it."
He also threatened to occupy Iran over President Masoud Pezeshkian's statement that "we will not give up our right to enrichment."
