Hezbollah will not hesitate to respond to Israeli breaches of ceasefire deal: Lebanese MP

A legislator from the Hezbollah political wing in the Lebanese parliament says fighters from the resistance movement will not hesitate to respond to Zionist regime’s flagrant violations of the April 16 ceasefire deal.

“Whilst Hezbollah is genuinely adhering to the truce, it will adequately address any Israeli breaches of the agreement,” Ihab Hamadeh, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, stated late on Friday.

He added, “As per reports from President Joseph Aoun, government officials, and Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces General Rodolphe Haykal, Hezbollah has honored all clauses of the November 27, 2024, ceasefire agreement. Israel, on the other hand, has failed to do so, and is pressing ahead with its violations, genocide, demolitions, and expansionism.”

The Lebanese lawmaker noted that Hezbollah is adhering to the ceasefire, and its measures are all in retaliation for Zionist regime’s breaches.

“The (Zionist regime’s) violations have become fairly commonplace, and the ceasefire agreement is being observed unilaterally,” Hamadeh stated.

According to Lebanese authorities, at least 2,951 people have been killed and more than 8,800 others wounded in Lebanon since the Israeli regime launched its war following Hezbollah’s March 2 operation.

Zionist regime is occupying a belt of southern Lebanon extending five to ten kilometres inland. The Zionist regime’s military has warned the residents of southern Lebanon not to cross into the area.
