IRGC launches strikes on US command site, Israeli-linked targets in Persian Gulf
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says that it has carried out a new wave of missile and drone attacks against the US and Israeli-linked targets across the Persian Gulf region as part of the 97th phase of Operation True Promise-4.
The IRGC, in its latest statement, said its naval forces conducted a large‑scale combined operation using ballistic missiles and drones.
One of the main targets was a gathering place for US commanders and officers near the Mohammed Al‑Ahmad naval base in Kuwait, it said.
According to the IRGC, the strike hit the site precisely and inflicted serious casualties, and a lot of ambulances were seen in the area after the attack.
The statement also reported that an Israeli‑linked vessel identified as King Dao Star was struck by a Ghadir naval cruise missile in the Port of Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates, setting the ship on fire.
The IRGC further said its naval forces blocked several vessels from transiting the Strait of Hormuz due to a lack of navigation authorization and redirected them to designated anchorage points on both sides of the strategic waterway.
Crews of oil tankers and commercial ships in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman were advised to follow official maritime guidance and communicate with IRGC naval stations through Channel 16, it added.
Tensions in the region have escalated sharply in recent months following US and Israeli aggression against Iran. Tehran has used its missile and drone capabilities to respond to the military actions. Iran has also blocked the passage of hostile vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly a fifth of the world’s oil supply passes and which remains one of the world’s most strategically sensitive maritime corridors.
