Zolghadr becomes Iran’s new top security official
Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr has been appointed as the new secretary of Iran’ Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), according to a senior official at the presidential office.
Mehdi Tabatabaei, the deputy for communications and information dissemination at the presidential office, said in a post on his official X account on Tuesday that Zolghadr was appointed to the post upon a decree by President Masoud Pezeshkian after approval of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.
Zolghadr replaces Ali Larijani who was assassinated in Zionist regime’s attacks on Tehran last week.
