Parl. Speaker: Choosing Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei brought relief to Iranian nation

Ghalibaf made the statement late on Sunday, when the Assembly of Experts announced its decision to choose Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the third Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei is the son of Martyr Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei who was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on his office in Tehran on February 28, the first day of the ongoing US-Israeli military aggression against Iran.

The speaker said that the prudent decision by the Assembly of Experts brought relief after the loss of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, making the people and all believers happy and shattering the last hopes of Iran’s adversaries.

Ghalibaf pledged allegiance to the new leader, praising him as “revolutionary and courageous” and saying he is well capable of continuing the path of his late father and the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, and of leading Iran toward becoming a developed and integrated country.

The top parliamentarian also said that the Assembly of Experts fulfilled its duty in the best possible way and in the shortest possible time, despite wartime conditions.

He added that now all officials and the people should fulfill their duty to protect the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and strengthen Islamic Iran through unity.
